I’m Anna Day, and I have been both a chief executive of charities and am now a consultant running a successful consultancy called Successful Coaching, which coaches neurodivergent leaders and charity leaders, and consulting in the mental health space.

I remember only to well how difficult it was to find charity consultants- often relying on word of mouth, and sometimes memorable mess ups by charity consultants that didn’t quite hit the mark. I decided to found Charity Consultants UK to create a space where charities could recruit and post opportunities free to help them reach a broad audience in April 2024. In just a few months, we have risen to over 450 consultants and agencies joining. As a ‘side quest’ to my main work, we are sustaining the project through coproduced support and peer support, and bringing excellent people into our community to run trainings. We are also increasingly working with recruiters to promote the service.

We built this network to create a level playing field for consultants, so the best consultants get the role not just relying on ‘who you know’ and therefore creating greater diversity in the charity sector.

We post out opportunities and provide training for consultants, and this enables them to team up together to better skill match to tenders, as well as have a central place where they can find consultants. Our goal is simple, to create a central network where consultants can find out about opportunities and grow their skills and strengths together. With workforce training monthly, and monthly action learning, we provide support to consultants to improve their contract delivery for charities. We also host webinars, and in the future as we grow, some in person meet ups too!
